I hurt my back two weeks ago at work. I don’t think they want me going to the doctor, should I?

So, Two weeks ago, I (26m) lhurt my back at work. I am a blue collar worker. And reported the incident. Last week I spent the week sitting in the work truck, icing and stretching my back. This week I spent at home, paid, icing, some heat, and stretching my back. It got bad enough at one point I couldn’t walk one night. Sometimes it hurts a crap ton and other times it doesn’t hurt much. I’d describe the pain as labour, exhausting, and sometimes sharp. Anyways, tonight it hurts to breathe. I feel like they don’t want me to go to the doctor and just rest it out, but it’s been two weeks now. Should I give it more time? They said I should just rest and not go in. That’s why I spent the last week at home.

I don’t want to get anyone in trouble, they said that if I went to the doctor on my own a lot of people could get fired. What should I do?

Edit: I stayed home from work today and did not expect this to blow up. I shall be checking comments.
