Long time lurker, first time poster here. So I have been working in a fine dining restaurant for a little under a year. I've had my gripes here and there, but the money was worth it. Recently however, the General Manager has been going on a bit of a rampage, and pointing out every single thing we do that is not to his liking. Which i can excuse some of it, because we are an upper scale restaurant. However, I've seen this man straight up yell at people for forgetting to place down certain plates and silverware for a guest.
Then suddenly, this past weekend he tells us that we cannot request off up to 12 weeks in advance. This got everyone angry understandably. I even heard my friend say that he requested off 4 months in advance for an event and it was denied because the manager said he would deny all time off requests, even past the 3 month gate. He cannot be reasoned with, and his reason for this is he didn't want to look through all the requests anymore. Needless to say I am now looking for a new job, but I figured this belonged here.
