I am working a in-between job as a security guard. My boss asked me if I wanted to work all week 3 to 11. Well I jumped on it.
One the first day they told me there was a layoff and they wanted me drive the car that has security on the side and park it in front of an exit for 20 minutes and then move on to the next exit. They wanted people to know security was on the job.
As the days passed more and more of the story was coming out. The CEO wanted to make the company more profitable. I checked the stock of the company and they were already doing well.
They were whacking long term employees. A couple department head got it. One guy started with them when he was in high school. He was planning to retire in September and he would have been there for 50 years. He begged them to lay him off in September but they wouldn’t hear it.
I saw that sad sack in the lobby with all his personal stuff. Behind him was a poster that this place was voted the best place to work. I wanted to take a pic of him and that poster but there are cameras everywhere.
