I’ve been at this retail job for a year and a half, and in that time I’m really convinced their either trying to push everyone out, kill us slowly, or send us on a grippy sock vacation. We’ve dealt with a broken AC the past two summers, shortened breaks, having 2 people shifts on weekends; our highest volume days, being punished for low moral, and such a mind boggling lack of transparency about our product (fake high end jewelry), bonuses, and management. I’m not working this upcoming Black Friday sale because life is too short for such misery, and if they fire me for that, it would be a blessing.
