My resume has a wrong date listed (don’t ask why please, don’t want to get into that) for when I started my current job. It’s the right company and exact job title listed however. I’m posting here because I am so tired of being nervous over this BS and hate how much employers control your life here. I did nothing wrong and I’m still nervous.
Anyway, I’m required to do a third party background check (credit, criminal, education, employment, etc.) and on there the HR added that wrong date. I had to check whether or not I give permission for third party to contact my current employer. I put no, but I also have my SSN and a bunch of other info. Will they still be able to see dates either way without contacting employer?
