Not sure if this is the right subreddit, but I'll go ahead with it anyway.
I (17m) work in a coffee shop in the UK, which has been open for ~10 months. I have been working there since – when we first opened, we had 8 staff (excluding the manager). Now we have 3 staff, 3 of them handed their notice this week. The staff turnover rate is incredibly high. I get paid just above minimum wage for my age category but I have plenty of savings.
I desparately want to quit my job as I really don't enjoy working there anymore. My mum says I should continue until I move out for university otherwise 'it'll look bad on my CV and I'll have no income'. I understand her reasons but I think they are not strong enough reasons to stay at all.
What are your thoughts on this situation? I can provide more information if necessary.
Edit: If I leave, the employee turnover would increase to 200% lmao
My (ex)colleagues in a group chat are all encouraging me to leave.
A lot of my shifts are breaking laws (in the UK) E.g., work break, working alone, holidays, etc. Sometimes I work more than my mum (25+ hours) on top of college and its just not manageable.
Edit 2: not really sure if this post was to ask for your opinions or just a rant, but I have already decided I want to quit, I guess it's just a matter of when
