I don't even know how to handle what I'm feeling right now. Me and my manager have been discussing for weeks about a promotion to a Sr position opening up, and he was helping me get qualified for it, so much as putting me on tasks alongside them to learn parts of their job.
I applied for the position and 3 days later I received an automated apology email. No interview, nothing. I can't blame my manager because I think he truly did what he could to set me up for it, so far as to give me advice on what to focus on during the interview as far as my contributions to the team.
Man I fucking hate this corporate bureaucracy bullshit. The person who rejected my application doesn't even work for the company, they're an outsourced contractor w/ another company.
Anyway, I'm channeling my anger into applying for new companies and studying for a cert. At least my resumes already updated. Any words of advice are appreciated.
