Company has been complaining about not finding enough people to work later shifts. They’ve “fixed” that by taking away pay differential.

I've been with this company almost a year and have actually liked it more that any other place I've work which actually makes this even more disappointing to me. My company has been in need of office workers willing to work evenings/nights and has used a pay increase for those willing to work those shifts. I'm a night owl and enjoy the extra bump in pay so I've gladly worked it. But I guess this hasn't been enough to get the amount of employees they desire so today they announced their solution: All employees will be mandated to work 4 evening/night shifts a month (these can be whenever they choose as long as that particular date is available). On top of that they're getting rid of the pay difference. Are they increasing the pay of everyone to the evening pay? Of course not! They're putting everyone else's down to the…

So now those of us who are work nights and evenings all week are essentially getting a pay cut. It just goes to show that no matter how much you've enjoyed your job, it's still a corporation that doesn't care about you.
