Turns out my company planned to lay me off me for an entire year, yet convinced me not to take a position at another company

I was a manager at a tech startup company for the past 2.5 years, and I recently found out this week that my entire team and I will be laid off as the company will be outsourcing. I found out today that this was my company's plan for the entire past year, and I even turned down a job offer I was handed in October of 2022 after I was given a promotion and substantial raise as an incentive to stay. They did this knowing that they weren't going to keep me for much longer. The lesson here is to NEVER take an incentive when giving notice to your company. Don't take the promotion, don't take the raise — just leave. It shouldn't take the threat of leaving for them to give you a raise/promotion, anyway. I feel so much regret right now.
