My company is based in the Midwest and up until now, we have only hired local employees. However, we have transitioned to 100% WFH since Covid. Our management team recently announced that they would begin hiring remote employees who live in the Las Vegas metropolitan area, of all places. They straight up told us that they will be taking regular trips to Vegas for “team meetings” (and Lord knows whatever else because you know, tax write-offs) that obviously the company will be paying for. Meanwhile, the rest of us will be stuck back here on Zoom for said meetings.
