My job works entirely through a phone application
I proved to my job with screenshots that I chose one Sunday to work but was booked to work the same day, at a location 2 hours away, and to arrive in 20 minutes.
I asked if my job could pay me for the entire shift because of my travel costs
(they saw my message and time of arrival and didn't cancel my shift until I walked through the door. Because of that, the company let me work as they didn't have any other answer and needed me to come in)
I explained to them that it's not the company's fault or my fault that I'm scheduled to work a shift I didn't book, same day, last minute.
There is no public transportation available after clock out time and I don't have a car
Also, I get fired if I don't show up and they decide that I have to arrive to the shift
I'm assuming my job told the company to pay me for the entire shift instead of paying me theirself
The company paid me for the full shift then blocked me from being able to work with them (fired)
Saw it as a “how do you like that” kind of move
I wasn't being malicious and even told my supervisor to tell the manager that I wasn't requesting that they pay me but that my job does
I'm scheduled to work with them for the rest of the month
My land lady raised my rent and took away my discount as punishment for her plan to raise my rent without my knowledge backfiring
I feel like I'm fucking spiraling
I gave it my absolute all yesterday. I didn't bullshit. They had me doing the worst jobs: trash and cleaning mold out of bins
I got it all done early enough to wash my hands and have literally nothing else to do the last few minutes before clocking out and they fired me
