Hopeful and nervous

I’ve posted about my current job before. I was passed over for a internal job that would have changed my life for the better. I laid it all out. It was a good personal talk where we both understood how important something like this would be for anyone. I was convinced that everything would be ok. Then I saw that my internal application was denied on the company portal. Turns out they were going to hire a brand new person. I was mad. Then review time came around shortly after. He brought up the 2-3 times I was late. Stating that was the reason. That I wasn’t a good employee before it was time for that position, but now I am. During this review meeting, the new guy hadn’t even started his first day yet. I’ll own up to being late. Being late was poor planning on my part, but…

Being late was poor planning on my part, but when I’m late by 1-3 minutes over the course of 4 months and others are late 15-26 minutes late 2-3 times a WEEK then I’m mad. I felt singled out. I was given the short end of the stick so many times while everyone was given so many breaks.

Now something that sounds amazing and too good to be true is presented to me. I accepted. And I cannot even enjoy it because I’m worried what if I went to someone worse? What if these people are nice during the first meeting, but will turn into dicks after? Plus all the people that had my back here that spoke up for me, but was ignored. I just want a good job that will treat me well, pay me well, and be fair. I’ve never had that before. That’s why I’m so nervous about starting this new job.
