When the hell did 2 to 3 years become considered job hopping?

I was just recently told that 2 to 3 years is job hopping and you will be unhirable. I don't even agree with this. Man I say every 2 to 3 years check what the market has to offer if you can snatch a good job with a huge pay increase and better benefits then the last and it's a strategic lateral move up in your career goals hop away.

Be the CEO of your own career and life.
