Just frustrated with my current situation. Just had a son (I know it was our choice). Now mone and my wife's employer are going back on their word. This was all done verbally but before we got pregnant both our employers said they would work with our schedules. We continued to confirm right until the baby is born. Now they are both saying they can't accommodate. I work in IT and I rarely need to go in. My manager is remote a lot and he has been flexible with everyone's schedule except mine. He is hard to read because he'd yell at me then bought my son a gift. I really want to leave but my managers boss told me to try to tough it out so I can get the huge promotion they're promising me. We're going to tough it out but it's really annoying that managers aren't being very reasonable. My request is only Mondays remote and my wife said she needs a more stable schedule.
We live in socal so everything is expensive and we can barely afford to survive here. It's sad that in 2023 a family can't survive without 2 incomes.
End rant. Please be kind, it's so hard on us right now.
