I applied for a new job at the beginning of July and had an interview the following week. The interview seemed to go well and was informed by my references that they were contacted for a reference check. Going on almost 2 months and I've heard nothing from the employer but the position is still open on the company's career site. Haven't had any feedback and no responses to my inquiries. Why go to the trouble of checking references if not interested?
