The job hunt.

I just want to see if I’m alone on this. I’ve been working full time (or nearly full time) since I was 13. I put myself through school, but graduated in ‘08-‘09 when there were no jobs to be had. I freelanced for a while, while bartending and serving before finally landing a 50k a year job, which felt like a huge win until the company shuttered 2 years later. That was nearly 10years ago. I’ve since uprooted my family to another state in order make more ends meet…Especially considering my student loans. I have some great experience in my field. I work in a high pressure 100% commissions position. It is in my field (media) but it is very sale heavy. I’m great at what I do and make good money. However, it is intense, exhausting and burnout is real. One hundred percent commissions is nerve wrecking because there are so many variables tied to my pay that if I find it difficult to relax with my family because I’m constantly having to work for fear of losing revenue/income. Which brings to my point, I’ve decide to move on and have been looking for a more stable and sustainable position.

It feels as though there are plenty of job posts around, however, it almost feels as though they’re just phantom jobs. Does anyone else feel as though the job market is just not responsive? And the ones that are, are trying to reset the salary market?

TLDR; does anyone feel as though job hunting feels futile right now?
