Incompetent Walmart dept manager caused an accident that broke my leg, Wamart is currently stalling and won’t cover remaining costs for the urgent procedure that needs to be done before the damage is permanent, despite initially saying they would do so. Store manager then fires me for “harassment”.

Walmart as you may know, pretty much dominates small towns and rural communities, so it's one of the only places you can work out here, but things were going relatively well until a some days ago when a manager put a newer employee in charge of some equipment to move pallets and boxes. Not only did the new guy not have ANY experience using them, but the (stock) manager gave him bad directions because of his own lack of using them himself, he's one of those drunk in power guys who just barks orders without thinking. This caused the new guy to bump into a set of boxes that ended up falling over me, breaking my right lower leg and fracturing my ankle. At first the stock leader and the store manager both gave me apologies, but when I put in complaints to corporate about the issue they reversed course.…

At first the stock leader and the store manager both gave me apologies, but when I put in complaints to corporate about the issue they reversed course. At first I was told by the store lead that Walmart would help pay for what my insurance didn't cover from the injuries, which was $127, now that is not the case. Instead, the stock manager backtracked and changed the story, instead he accused me of injuring myself by not following rules leading to unsafe working conditions, and yesterday I found out that the store lead fired me using that as the reason, along with claiming I was “harassing” him and other management by simply calling trying to figure out what was happening regarding covering the medica cost(I don't have insurance with walmart, I'm part time despite the 32 hour scheduling they kept giving me).

The backroom has cameras, so I'm hoping, which is a gamble with Walmart, that when (if?) corporate looks into this, they can see that these assholes are lying, and that it was the stock manager/lead who caused the accident and broke said rules. I did consult with a few attorneys, but they seem to be taking a wait and see approach, my fear is being in a small town where there's a ton of people who know each other, this may be intentional, but I don't want to be pessimistic.

However this creates a problem. I needed to have procedures done on my leg days ago, and the pain is excruciating. I was recently contacted by my doctor that warned continuing to further avoid coming in could lead to the leg damage being PERMANENT.

The problem is Walmart is currently, while corporate is investigating, not paying to cover the rest of my medical cost. Without being able to cover the $127 I can't get my leg taking care of and it's definitely gradually getting worse and worse, I can't even tilt my foot without it causing severe pain. ER will just refer me instead of doing it themselves.

What can I do? I can't get a credit card, and it could take a week or longer before Walmart does anything. Especially in a rural town where things can be slow, and there's not much in the way of resources. That's too long to wait when my leg needs attention as soon as possible.
