Fired cause I’m not autonomous enough

My company is based in France (cloud computing) and I live in Canada with a 6 hour difference to my colleagues on my team. I only have my tech lead/boss here where I live and he’s in meetings most of the time. I admit I had a rocky start but I’ve made changes to my work style to account for them. My company is based in France (cloud computing) and I live in Canada with a 6 hour difference to my colleagues on my team.

I only have my tech lead/boss here where I live and he’s in meetings most of the time.

I admit I had a rocky start but I’ve made changes to my work style to account for them. Which included taking extra courses online and starting 1-2 hours earlier so that I can have more time with the team in France. And ask more questions as they wanted.

I had 2 deficiencies which I was tackling by taking these online courses and used that knowledge to solve my problems at work.

I was let go today though because according to my boss here I wasn’t autonomous enough even though for the last month I have completed all my tasks on time and only ran into one or two issues. And I’ve pointed out at least 2 bugs and had them fixed with detailed information. I also helped 2 individual to deploy their machines.

This wasn’t mentioned to the manager by my boss at all.

So now, I’m sitting here again applying to jobs cause my ex boss likes to talk about deficiencies and not strengths.

Not a single thing was about my code, my work ethic, my completion rate. Just being not autonomous enough to learn about a 20 year old system.
