I had a question for my boss and for the first time in my life I said it’s after my hours we can discuss this tomorrow during my working hours.

I, for most of my 20s have been in a job where I felt pressured to work after my working hours as I had so much work that didn't fit within my normal 40 hours and not getting such work down would leave me getting reprimanded. I had to turn something in to my boss but her door was closed and I texted her saying I left it in her mailbox. She told me that she just left her door closed as she was on a phone call. She texted this to me after my working hours saying she is available now. Usually, I'll stay as late as need be outside of my working hours to get something done, but this is the first work environment where I felt comfortable to flat out say to her it's 20 minutes past my working hours we can discuss this tomorrow. And she was cool with it. A whole decade of getting mistreated and I finally found a healthy work environment with an understanding boss.
