Hi Reddit, I work full-time in a retail environment and I'm looking elsewhere for a job. I've had to work 6 day weeks every other week because of lack of coverage in the store, and my PTO days pretty much turned into regular scheduled days off (I was paid for those days off, but I didn't get both regular days off otherwise, if you get what I mean). Today I'm pretty sure my manager is going to make me work bell to bell because someone called off when I left a note on his desk two weeks ago that I could not close the store today (which is why I have the morning shift) because of other obligations. My theoretical question once I find a new job is, do I have to work all of my assigned shifts after a 2 week notice if he schedules me for more than 40 hours a week during those two weeks? Would I have to work bell to bell outside of the schedule if the closers don't show up on my morning shift days?
