Took a vacation but learned I have to be overseas at the end of the year which is when my work contract ends.

Idk if I should worry, but I have a contract for my role until the end of this year, and I took a vacation 2 weeks ago that was preapproved before I got the position in June of this year, but now I learned that I have to be overseas for a personal very important event. I am thinking since my contract ends in december it’s no biggie but idk if that worsens my chances of being extended on the contract. Also, once I’m back to the stated and if they didn’t extend, I’ll be out of a job. Should I tell my boss right now about this or should I say there’s an emergency a week/2 weeks before having to go? I am thinking about saying an issue with a family member has come up
