Good news: I’ve received a verbal offer for an amazing job! Bad news: I need 5 references, 2 of which have to be former supervisors. Here’s where I think I fucked up. I put my current manager as a reference. Received an email the next day wanting to know why I was leaving and what they could do to make me stay. It’s going on 4 days and they still haven’t completed my reference request, and the recruiter is breathing down my neck about it. I am going to be devastated if they withdraw their offer because my manager is being unprofessional
