Hey all, I need help phrasing my resignation email for my job. I've worked at this warehouse about 3 years, and have been off on FMLA leave the last two months because of a minor work injury that occured due to overwork. Additionally, yesterday I learned for the first time from HR that the entire time I've been reporting in that I needed FMLA time off, I wasn't doing it in the proper beurocratic way that would allow me to actually return to work without them recording further no call no shows while the paperwork processes.
Before this injury happened, I was fully intending to quit September 1, and still plan to, because I'm going back to college. I also have no love in my heart for management or this company due to a long history of them making decisions at the expense of their employees. I'm planning to quit tomorrow via a short and immediate email resignation, but want to be sure I word it as well as possible. My gut says simply writing “effective immediately I quit” would not give enough detail. Anyone have any advice on points to mention for this resignation? Or is a single sentence enough?
