since corporations have been making record profits off of basic food and sustenance necessities that are proving to be more and more expensive for everyone else (and blamed on “inflation”) the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program should be expanded to assist more “middle class” Americans with accessing those items.
most of the American workforce right now cannot afford to eat a healthy and sustainable diet because of budget constraints. i am not talking about median household income statistics or anything that someone will come along and try to derail with, i am talking about affordability of food for the average American worker, which as of right now is unsustainable with the rise of other basic living costs.
if something isn't done to help make life at least more bearable for the ones who are being looked over right now because they're just a step above being homeless this country will start to see a decline in its overall GDP and any other of the metrics that stupid capitalists care about.
