I’m 17f and have been at this store for over a year, my starting pay was $10 and has not changed since, I live with my girlfriend who also works at the same store also making $10. We both have to contribute to bills and groceries because her mom recently got a pay cut and it’s a struggle. I asked my boss for a raise and she looked at me and sweetly said “how does $11/hour sound”. If I didn’t need and like my job as much as I do I’d have walked right out. Over a year of service with literal blood sweat and tears spilled to only be worth an extra dollar?!?!!!!?
Literally the only reason I haven’t quit yet is because of my friends working in my department being really cool and I struggle to form friendships and don’t want to let this connection go. I’d appreciate some advice on this as idk what to do
