Co-worker accepted a new job offer and won’t say anything

Maybe just a rant, but I got a new job 5 months ago and was never told that the only co-worker in my department for this small business would be graduating from her two year degree and looking for a new job. I wouldn’t have accepted this job in the first place if I had known that I was her replacement. The thing is, I have applied to hundred of other jobs since then and even got to the second interview with another company and was ghosted. I will be traveling early next year for three weeks so I don’t feel like I should look for a new job at this point. But what is so annoying is that meanwhile, my co-worker is constantly allowed to come in whenever she felt like and do her homework on the job and then look for a new one all while working the job I’m in currently. Now she’s leaving and I’m screwed. I work in a small business customer service department, with very low pay and I have a bachelors in design. I guess what I’m really trying to say is, no matter the reason don’t ever step down in your career if you have to. I felt like I needed this job since I couldn’t find one after being self-employed for two years, and now I’m stuck being the only customer service person at this small business and also the e-commerce photo editor and design assistant. I felt lied to from the beginning and now I’m stuck in this terrible job. I just feel like quitting. I don’t think anyone should have to support a million dollar e-commerce website’s customer service department by themselves. The fact that they didn’t get rid of her awhile ago is mind-boggling to me. It’s absurd.
