I hate my job. How do I get fired?

So I took a job in healthcare recruiting, as I've been told it can be very lucrative. I've been there for four months and have signed very few contracts. The market has been in a downward spiral since the massive highs during COVID. There are some high performers there living on residual contracts through referrals. It's very hard if not impossible to break into. None of the high earned at my company are doing a quarter of what the average recruiter could be making during COVID. I hate the work. Cold-calls and a hundred nos, just to get someone a job offer, and they walk away from you. The work atmosphere is like a fraternity. They think they're all Jordan Belfort.

Now this is my problem, but I just kinda freaked out one day. I'm asking myself, “Is this what you want to be doing in 6mos? A year? It's not changing, and it's not going to get better, despite my company's best intentions. I think they're too bought in and can't see the light.

In their blind optimism, I feel like I was unintentionally lied to. I took a 50% pay cut to their base pay, and there's no market. The new people can't make any way in this, and my bills are all coming in (hospital bill from last year and student loan payments are coming up in Oct).

So I just left one day. We have unlimited P.T.O., and I've been sick for 9 of the last 10 days. I don't want to lose my commission, which I've barely seen, but I can't find my way to walk back in there and give it another go. I have a huge history in the service industry and could be employed by the end of the week. I'd like unemployment, as it would be nice to just take one week where I'm not stressed out before I have to go back to it.

Sorry for the rant, but I'm not sure what to do.
