It took 2hrs.. 2 hours of unavoidable meeting I HAD to attend because the company thought we needed a talk and a fireside Q&A from this guy because he has knowledge of leadership and management of his team in combat situations.
While I respect the man's career and has probably learned how to be a great leader and motivational speaker under, probably, life threatening situations, but, I honestly don't care as I don't see how it's relevant comparing combat situations to not being able to figure out an SQL query.
His examples of leadership or stress or fear or anything in between was all combat related and how he delt with it. To then further go on to say that the coping mechanisms he learned for situations that require leadership and all that, will work for us.
The fuck it will.
