The multi-billion dollar corporation I work for wants their workers to pay for the cost of their new hybrid fleet

I work for a division of a retail chain that requires me to drive pretty much daily for pickups, deliveries, etc. The company is worth over a billion dollars, and is part of the largest and most profitable retail chain in our particular industry in the USA. They recently started replacing our older gas minivans with hybrid and EV minivans, and just announced that they expect us as employees to pay for the cost of charging an EV for 5 days a week, every singe week. Not only that, we are required to pay for personal use of the vehicles by the mile, and that cost is calculated by the MSRP of the vehicle. So, we have to pay just to drive the vehicle home, pay to charge the vehicle, and pay to drive the vehicle back to work, and that cost is even higher than usual because it’s new.

They’re going to take mine away because I complained, and I was told “the company is just trying to recover the cost of their investment”. Motherfuckers, that’s the cost of doing business! It’s not my job as your employee, who makes a less than average salary for the USA, to help you recoup the cost of your operating expenses when you’ve got at least a dozen executives (probably more) pulling in well over six figures.

And they wonder why people hate corporations.
