Three months ago, my old boss decided to get out of management. He is a rockstar at my company so they made a new position for him that was a lateral move (same pay, no longer has any managerial duties). His replacement was an internal hire, a guy on the same level as me that I’ve worked with for the last two years I’ve been here. He was honestly the most ideal pick for the position, but the issue is that once my old boss took on his new position, they (upper management) decided that the new one wouldn’t be taking on ALL of his duties. They’ve now forced several manager-tier tasks onto me with no pay raise mentioned.
Two weeks ago my new boss told me he needs an in-depth write up detailing EVERYTHING I do. Including the new tasks. For my non-managerial duties/day-to-day tasks, I’m the only person in the company that knows how to do what I do. Ironic that I’m quitting this job to find one with better pay when I’m in a position like that, but I digress lol.
I immediately decided I will not be doing any of what he asked. I’ve been applying and interviewing at places for weeks without their knowledge and I think I finally found a job with promising prospects. First impressions were great and I’m just waiting for the next steps now. If I get it I’ll be making $400-600/month MORE than I do now while working about 10 hours/week less.
I can’t wait to turn in my notice then sit on my ass the last couple weeks, not doing that fucking procedure. They can figure this shit out themselves when I’m gone.
