Feeling dumb for feeling guilty of asking a day off at my new job

Basically the title. Had to ask for a day off a month from now for an important event, at a job I just started. Felt like the process was more convoluted than it was needed, as I explained why I needed the date so they understood how important it was, and ended up dumbly feeling bad for even asking ( that dumb fear that you’re being “difficult” right away, or that maybe I should’ve told earlier , when I got offered the job ), and not even being given a confirmation or not. It’s not something I can postpone , cancel or not go, so honestly I shouldn’t even been asking , just informing that I would not be working. Still need to work on not feeling guilty for asking for days off for very important things.
