So my company is crap. They've asked me to move up to management with no extra compensation. I declined. I consistently follow policy and procedure as well as do excellent work with only 2 vehicles coming back in 3 years and keep the shop clean and answer questions non stop from everyone in the garage. My bosses boss asked if my boss thought I deserved a raise and would give me one. Absolutely based on performance alone let alone the extra stuff. His reply blew my mind. That's great but that's not how it works here. He then told everyone there will never be a raise not even cost of living. We should be happy at 16 an hour because it is “industry standard”.
Three of us are going to a job fair tomorrow and on our way out the door. I've had it with this shit company who bought out our decent company.
TLDR: Told we are industry standard at 16 an hour (mechanic) and will never get raises not even cost of living.
