Is asking someone out for “coffee” a social thing or date thing?

I asked a coworker out for coffee that I been teasing and bantering with. We engage in mild flirting in the office and work well together. As far as I know, shes single. However, if things dont work out, we would have to see each other daily until one of us leaves. If things do work…….great! I asked her for coffee as “coworkers”. She asked for my number and she texted me hers. I am not sure if this is “just coffee” or something more. I didnt want to venture out to the “dating a coworker” territory as I dont have a job lined up right now. I am confused on the expectation of what she may expect. Is it a date or something more?
