Told to work overtime ( without pay)

I informed I was leaving at the said off time, but I was denied to leave. He made the excuse that we have an important meeting coming up and I should give extra time.

What do I do??
Should I ask to leave at the said time after the meeting is done??

For context, I work in the garment sector. I was hired as an assistant designer.
