I love my job, hate my employer. I have been at my current job for 6 months. Up until a week ago I worked 3 days on 12 hour shifts for a local clinic. I thought I had found the job I wanted to keep for a long time because I really enjoyed it and was happy with my coworkers. Now to the recent events…
They cut my hours with no notice. I don't know if I can afford bills and groceries. I tried reaching out to multiple levels of management and just got the run around. Despite being one of the lower paid employees, giving me more hours would apparently be detrimental.
They hired a new coordinator, who I am doing a large part in training. She is the most useless human being I have ever worked with. Despite weeks of training she takes 20 minutes to do what I do in less than 1. Not exaggerated. The times are posted. Then after she finished registering a patient I have been having to fix it because she either doesn't put the insurance on, fails to verify it or just outright doesn't finish it. She is paided close to twice what I am an hour.
I am considered by my coworkers to be the go to person for multiple aspects of our job, yet I am one of the lowest paid because of no prior experience. One of my coworkers has been with the company for 15 years. Today I had to correct a huge issue she caused by billing someone with insurance as self pay because she was too lazy to do the insurance. She made it to where the patient had to pay a full price emergency clinical visit. Because she is lazy.. but yeah, sure, pay her dramatically more than me and give her twice the hours. Fuck this place..
