Outsourced hiring

So, recently accepted a new job offer but holy hell was the hiring process infuriating. The company uses a third party for the hire on process and I'm fairly sure these clowns are the reason the place is so understaffed. Normally in the past it would be simple. Go to the interview, they call back “you got the job, here's the place to get drug tested, come In after to fill out the paperwork and your good to go!” But this third party process is a nightmare. First I had to make a profile on a site that was janky as shit, took forever. Upload my identification then basically fill out all the information that I already filled for the job application. Then I had to get a witness to co sign for permission to run a background check. Got a bunch of paperwork days apart. Then I had to set up the drug test myself. Get a sign off from the local sheriff s department for a traffic violations check. Run to my previous state to get them to sign off on an out of state background check which I then had to pay for out of pocket. After all that was finally over, started the job. Funny thing is, I had already turned down several job offers because they use the same third party company to handle the hiring process. And all the jobs I turned down are still listed. This one I only went through with the process because it offered the most pay for the least amount of effort and a 4day workweek. When my new boss told me they've been short staffed for 6months I told him, about the hr thing and he wasn't surprised. Turns out ever since the company outsourced its on boarding process to that third party, most of the new hires never finish the paperwork. Anybody else have an experience like this?
