So I am a guy who's engaged and already has a family, I also don't disclose anything about myself at work that is my personal life.
I was hired by an employer back in February of 2023, and I was an Assistant Manager, I worked with females, and they were all young, between the ages of 18 and 25, My manager was even a woman.
So work was okay, but a lot of the employees I supervised didn't listen to the rules, and when I reported it to my manager, I felt it was favoritism and sexist because she was playing both sides of the fence. She would instruct me to tell them to not do something, then turn right back around and defend them, and it wasn't the first time.
So after working at that location for about 2 months, I was on the phone with another co-worker, about job duties and things that needed to be done, since I was on break. A co-worker was yelling and screaming at me in the back office about how I was accused of sexual misconduct and sexual harassment. And I was in complete shock and utter disbelief because this was the first time I'd ever heard anything about this, and I'd only been working here two months, and barely even knew people's names or phone numbers. And I asked where did you hear this? The co-worker on the phone and the one who was screaming all said they heard it from my manager.
I then told my manager boss the situation, of what happened, typed it up on a report, and retained 2 copies one for myself and one for him. And told him that I did not feel safe or comfortable at my current location and that I officially requested a transfer immediately. It took them a month to transfer me and three weeks to bring sexual misconduct allegations against me. So they had me sign a nondisclosure agreement but I'm the only one who signed the company didn't sign it and it was recorded on CCTV audio and video, so people who were not parties to that were able to see it and hear it, even remotely if they choose to do so. So in April, I was found not guilty of the allegations, and I got very sick because a guy came in covered in gasoline and I got very dizzy, light-headed, and started to fall asleep. The gasoline fumes were still in the store even after he left. I called my manager( I was transferred in March to a new store) whom I asked to get medical attention and for the worker's compensation number. She said to just open the store's doors and ill be fine and that I did not need a worker's compensation telephone number. And that if I got medical attention I would be terminated. So I went to her boss and was told the same thing. So I already have a pre-existing medical disability that you can't physically see. And 3 days later I got physically ill because of the gas vapors. So when I was hospitalized I let my boss know and gave documentation. Also, I find it a bit suspicious that the company cleared me from any and all wrongdoing. So a few days later I called out again because I had COVID symptoms, I had a fever, red watery eyes, runny nose, etc. So I gave her a doctor's note. So then 2weeks later I got a light exposure to the drug fentanyl through a third-person contact, which I was exposed to because it was on the money a customer handed to me. I was hospitalized and then removed from the schedule indefinitely. Then when I recovered I asked to be put back on the schedule to no avail. Then in June, I got a call from HR where they said I was terminated for lying and insubordination, but they never put that on my termination letter, and they lied. Do I have a right to sue? What are all's thoughts on this?
