New start is getting payed more than me.

I (27) have been working as a 3D artist at my company for the past 2 years. When I first applied for the job, the saley advertiser was £25k to £30k per year. As it was my first 3D job, I accepted when they offered me £26k to start, as I figured my first year or so would be mostly training, and then would eventually get a raise. However, it's just been announced that we are looking for a new junior to join our team. The ad went up last night… they are currently offering the junior role for 28k… I am deviated. I have an appraisal coming up in October where we typically go over raises, and I am wrecking my head, because I don't know what I'll do if they say they can't afford to give me a raise. I don't want to quit as this is the best job I have ever had and I really enjoy the people I work with (even my boss!) So I'm really unsure with what to do here.

(Just to be clear I am not a junior position, and have been, as far as I'm aware, an excellent employee)
