How do I embrace my bullshit job?

I should seriously think I'm living the dream because I've got a cushy well-paying job, fulltime with great benefits. And my real work only takes up about a third of my time. Classic bullshit job. Here's the problem: I'm trying so hard to be pragmatic but I feel guilty and ashamed that I am not contributing. I'm hopeless conscientious, and I've never learned to “work smart instead of hard,” or to play politics. I also feel like I need to keep this job because I need the security after a decade of gig work. Any good advice and inspiration about embracing my bullshit job?
