I’m the lowest paid person in my company and one of the only women

I accepted a “specialist” position for what I knew was low pay because I thought it would be great experience and resume building. This was 8 months ago. I had to get a second job to support myself. Now, I’m running out of steam. I found out two men in my department, who are equals to me in their positions, get paid more than me. Only one has been there longer than me. I’m 40hrs/week, no benefits, PTO, sick days, nothing. I tested positive for the flu and was lectured on how I need to “make it work”. So I masked up and went in to work this week until I started barfing and went home. Some of my tasks this week involved physical labor. Morale of story is, there are no cool jobs lol. I made more money waiting tables so I’m going back to that!
