Need some advice on what to do.

Kind of a little bit of a rant, apologize in advance but I need some advice. So, I started a job at a new company about 2 weeks ago. It was a job I really liked but after the second day I realized that it might not be a good fit, but I did not want to give up on the job right away. But I talked to other employees there and they told me that people are consistently leaving because of the way the boss treats his employees, I didn’t pay much attention to it, I took it as just employees complaining about work just like any other job, at the end the 1st week I started to realize that maybe there was a reason why people left this job. Kind of a little bit of a rant, apologize in advance but I need some advice.

So, I started a job at a new company about 2 weeks ago. It was a job I really liked but after the second day I realized that it might not be a good fit, but I did not want to give up on the job right away. But I talked to other employees there and they told me that people are consistently leaving because of the way the boss treats his employees, I didn’t pay much attention to it, I took it as just employees complaining about work just like any other job, at the end the 1st week I started to realize that maybe there was a reason why people left this job. The boss of this company is constantly talking down to the employees telling every little thing that they do wrong and doesn't communicate what is required on each specific job so then he tells us things like this job should have taken you guys 3 hours, but you guys were here all day and other things like that. Then another employee told me about the bonus the boss gives if we stay late which I thought it was cool, but come to find out that he does this bonus so that he doesn't have to pay his employee's overtime, he gives a bonus for every hour we stay extra on certain days, but as an employee was telling me that if you miss a day or come in late you don’t get that bonus, so I could essentially work every day overtime for the whole week and miss the last day and he would not pay me any of that overtime I worked. And another thing that bothers me is the fact that he pays you in cash and I asked a fellow employee if there was a website, or somewhere I could see my paystubs and they said yes and no, my coworker said that the boss has stated you can view your paystubs on a specific website but that they don’t really know and they kind of just ignored that topic, so im worried that I am not being fully compensated for the hours I worked since there really is no way of me knowing because there is no documentation, he has paid me for these 2 weeks but im not so sure it was accurate, I have been writing down the time I go into the shop and the time I leave on my phone but that’s about it, and the reason I do this is because at a previous job there was hours missing on of my paychecks so it became a habit to write my start and end time every day since then.

Another aspect that I noticed from the job is that I don’t feel very safe on certain days, we usually work in commercial buildings and some residential homes that are being worked on, but we have no safety gear and I constantly have insulation or other debris fall in my eyes I got a cut on my finger the other day that could have been avoided if safety gloves were provided, the reason I have an issue is because when I first started working there the Hiring person ( the wife of the owner) said that I would not need to buy anything and that everything would be provided to me and that if I did have to buy something for work that I would get reimbursed, she also on the first day went over the typical details of work and how we get a 45 min lunch break every day, in the 2 weeks that I have been working there I only took one 45 min lunch break and it was the 1st day of work. There was a instance at work towards the end of the day where we were getting ready to leave and I had not taken a break all day and I was just exhausted and decided to take a quick 5 min break, while I was doing that the owner showed up and gave me grief for not working, he didn’t do it directly to me but he told the lead to talk to me about me just sitting around and the lead told him that I had been working all day and that this was the 1st break I had taken all day. What bothered me about this is that the owner had told me that if I needed a quick break that I should take one but then got bothered when I took a quick break. It also upset me because I confronted him and told him that I had not taken a break all day because I didn’t really know if I should take one because I didn’t know if there was a set time for lunch or something and I just assumed that we were trying to get that job done. He replied with “you know you can take a break the HR ady told you about it I even have the conversation recorded” and when he said that I felt uncomfortable about the fact that he recorded any conversation without me knowing. The owner is constantly contradicting himself and sending missed signals, there was an instance where he said if you guys would have finished the job earlier you could have gone home early no strings attached, but that same day he said we had another job that he had to postpone because we were stuck at the current job. Our start time is 9:30 every morning and one day I arrived at 9:25 when everybody was getting things ready, he told everyone that we should make it a habit of us arriving a few minutes early so that at 9:30 we can leave the shop, well the next day I got to work at 9:15 and he had an issue with that and said that he didn’t like us showing up to shop early and just waiting in the parking lot ( I don’t have a key to the building so I can't start anything up myself) and that annoyed me because the day before he said that we needed to show up a little bit earlier.

Yesterday I had a fever and bad headache, and I still went to work worked a full day even if I was feeling very sick halfway through the day, I thought I wasn't going to able to continue but I managed to get through the day and this morning I felt even worse and I sent the owner a message that I was feeling worse today and he said ok, 3 hours later I get an email saying that I have been terminated and their reason was that I wasn't a good fit, I called the owner and he gave me excuse as to why I was terminated, he said that I would fall asleep while on our way to the jobsite but I didn’t see an issue with that seeing as some of these drives were 1 to 2 hours away and I was not the one driving, another thing I felt unsafe about was that the 2 drivers they have are very unsafe drivers they are always texting and driving and one of them speeds excessively I really do get concerned on some of these drives because it’s a cargo van and there is only 2 seats and I always have to sit on a bucket in the middle and have to constantly brace myself while someone is driving out of fear because I'm the only one who doesn't get a seatbelt, the other day it was 4 of us at a job site and another new guy said that he was just going to get a ride home because they told him that he had to ride in the back of the van with all the tools.

So my question is can I do anything about being terminated, I fell it was unjust because I have been showing up to work every day and doing everything I was told to do and I also don’t know if reporting this company is the way to go or who should I report the company to if I even decide to, any advice would be helpful.
