I have a really interesting story to tell. I’m a PTA ( physical therapist assistant ) who has a dx of lupus.
My job denied my accommodation of me having an approved day off for when I have flares up due to “meeting the practices needs”. & that they recommend for me to go down to part time. Ok fine. I was already upset my accommodation was denied bc I jumped through hoops , blood work , documentation etc …
This morning , I noticed my dog wasn’t feeling well, so I decided it was best to not leave him alone. I tried to call in & my boss said “ crate your dog up and get here as soon as possible “ ..
As soon as I take my dog out for a walk he has a seizure and dies. I’m calling my boss to let him know why I am not at work and he is not answering.
He finally shoots me a text 2 hours later after I said “ I will not be coming in today , because I told you my dog was not feeling well, & you basically told me “ oh well”. Now I have a dead dog , & god forbid if my child and I came home and our dog was laid out dead. “ & then sent a picture of my dead dog at the vet.
I am so appalled and disgusted with the US & they’re working rules ..
