Got Let Go Because I wanted to work, not go to a social outing

Was so excited to start working after college because I have just been so bored and felt like my life was pointless. I was given a start day for Monday just to get an e-mail asking for a RSVP to a lunch on that same Monday. I really didn’t feel comfortable going out to lunch since I did not know anyone at the company except the boss and I did not feel comfortable driving far to go out to eat (i’m a new driver). I RSVP saying I cannot attend the lunch only to later find out I was let go and the company had full right due to an at-will policy. This obviously pisses me off because why wouldn’t you just say the lunch was required and maybe I would have gone. But yeah blame your employees for bad communication. Here we go with another boring 6 months without…
