Had a Zoom interview scheduled for 3:30. Logged on around 1 pm to make sure I knew how to work with Zoom. Took a break around 2 (but stayed logged in) to get dressed and all made up. 3:30 comes, 3:45, at 3:47 I'm sending frantic emails asking what's wrong, I'm hanging out in the waiting room and nobody is there. Eventually, at 4:45 I get an email saying they show me logging in first at 2 but not being logged in at 3:30. Wasted an entire afternoon when I had things I needed to get done.
Don't have any idea why they didn't see me, neither do they, and they apparently didn't take the time to even glance at their email or they would have seen that I was trying to get in touch. “Nice” enough to reschedule for tomorrow, which was already going to be ridiculously busy. And since I have no idea what I did wrong, and they didn't have any advice, I don't know that it's going to work then either. Their little banner on Indeed said they were urgently hiring. I think I know why.
They also said in their job posting that being “late” for the interview would count against you.
Does anybody have any idea about what I might have done wrong? I will admit I logged in and out a few times thinking it would “reset” the call and they would show up (or more accurately, that I would show up on their end). But I wasn't logged out at 3:30. I'm not quite that stupid. I don't have a Zoom account, I'm just an invitee, and the email I got inviting me said not to create an account, and it would be a “one-click” connection. I had the camera turned on as well. Is there another step I needed to take to show up as logged in?
