I recently quit my job on the spot . Now I have to explain to my boss why I quit before I get blacklisted from the entire company. Here are my reasons but I need to make them sound cogent because my boyfriend said that that he could have put through it and still work there. I am a server at what I would describe as a high end sport bar. I have a a gm, manager and supervisor. Besides the boss.
First in the beginning of the month, I got sick. I showed up to work Friday for a 13 hour shift, which was extremely painful. After the shft, one of my co-workers told me that his girlfriend( who I had been hanging out with) is positive for COVID. Both him and I informed the GM and told him that that is probably had it as well. He asked me to get a COVID test. The next day since I had to be back a work at 10 am i couldn't go through a lot of pharmacies and the ones I went to didn't have any so I call him to inform him. He said that since i didn't have a test and I sounded “fine” I should go to work.. At this point, I'm not feeling good but I also need money so I go in. I'm wearing a mask, and trying to stay away . As the day goes by, I'm starting to feel worse. An old my co-workers are asking my GM to send me home because I didn't look good. I tell my GM that I don't feel good. And when he touches my forehead he says I feel “clammy” but I look good to work. At that point I told him I could make it since the next day would be only half day for me. He informed me that wasn't the case anymore because a lot of people call out. I tell him I cannot work the full shift. I'm not feeling good. And the only reason why I was making It was because I thought I was going home early than the next day. At this point we start arguing in. He tell me that all my coworkers are working their hours so I should too. He even goes to the point of hugging another server in front of me and thinking her for never getting sick. And comparing me to every one there. I get upset but he also told me that since the main boss doesn't believe in covid that wasn't an excuse to not work.
Next to make it short the manager makes an argument with a guest worse to the point where because of what she did a customer's call me a liar and a thief. the manager tells me she was going to be my white savior and use her white privileges to fight all the white racist peaple that come through.
The last thing that happened was. I told my supervisor that I was feeling uncomfortable with the customer because He was staring at me and saying things under his breath. Every time I past by like “the things I would do to you” When I inform him, he blew it off saying that's how you make your money anyways. It wasn't until another guest saw him air humping me and he informed the security that something was gonna about it.
I know this was long, but if you got through this and can help me and tell me This was enough recent to quit even though I know i was making good money here. Because I just need to know how to explain this to my boss.
