I'm new to the sub and don't know what I'll get from this but here it goes. I got a new position at work going from construction to an office job and slowly realized how much my manager lied about the position. The two biggest things were over time and holiday breaks, over time was important because I took a pay cut in this position and I was told they have it which was a lie then find out a month in that I'm scheduled to be on call during the holidays which was never discussed and I am still a non exempt employee.
So I thought I would reach out to hr to see what my options were, the shitty hr rep told my boss everything and I had to sit with him in a one on one meeting. It was borderline belittling, having to tell him repeatedly why I wanted to leave. He even had me write out on paper the pay difference in this position from my last and when the amount was higher from my last position he just pretended like he didn't see it.
None of the other people in the group likes him, we take bullshit surveys on our direct manager and despite having the lowest scores he still holds a management position. I don't know what else to do, he's talking about having me do engineering work which I do not get paid to do and extra projects not in my job title. I'm stressed to the point I can't sleep, one of his former employees died from a stroke and everyone thinks it's from the stress my boss put on him.
