So I work a 9-5 in an office, I’m 23F so I’m low on the totem poll, but I’ve been at this job nearly 8 months. The issue is, is that I have a particular style and I want to “pamper” myself sometimes. I’m not talking about office clothes because obviously I wear appropriate work clothes. I have an event coming up on a weekend and I want to get acrylics/nail extensions and eyelash extensions. I would say my style is quite extravagant, I like getting quite long nails and long eyelashes.
My mom, who is a boomer, is telling me not to get them because it’s not work appropriate and people will judge. But idk, is this just a boomer way of thinking and have things changed in the workplace in terms of what’s appropriate/inappropriate?
