Freelance frustrations

So one of my jobs is a freelance musician. I give a flat, very affordable fee for most gigs, or if it’s a non profit I usually don’t mind playing for tips. But there a venue an hour away from me, who wants me to play for 3 hours, without pay, just tips. They’re not a non profit. I feel bad saying no, but at the same time I feel it’s kinda shity for a business to do that. They didn’t even ask me my fee, they just said “most people play for tips and exposure”. How many times have we creators/performers heard that before. ‍ Thanks for letting me rant, I hope this fits here.
