My company recently gave me a 3% raise without me asking. They positioned this as them really valuing the work I do and how much I should take it as a sign that I am valued. Am I supposed to be happy about this? I'm grateful for any money, but 3% isn't a lot. However, I've never had a company give me more money without asking asking for a raise.
