It seems like lately over the last 5 years… more and more companies are only hiring part time workers so they don't have to pay them benefits or full 40 hours of pay.
I've noticed this as they claim to raise the wages… Amazon “we pay you 19/hour” but then only schedule you 20 hours a week with no benefits.
This is the case at every department store lately, almost every major corporation outside office jobs… they don't want to pay you full time salaries and it seems those positions are becoming more rare. Usually already taken by workers who have been there for many years.
Has anyone noticed this as well? My parents suggested I get a full time job while I'm taking a break from college in my mid 20s. Easier said than done. How does anyone survive on 20 hours a week?
